Ants Glorify God

The Prophet said:

أَنَّ نَمْلَةً قَرَصَتْ نَبِيًّا مِنَ الأَنْبِيَاءِ فَأَمَرَ بِقَرْيَةِ النَّمْلِ فَأُحْرِقَتْ فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ قَدْ قَرَصَتْكَ نَمْلَةٌ أَهْلَكْتَ أُمَّةً مِنَ الأُمَمِ تُسَبِّحُ

An ant bit one of the prophets and he ordered that the ant nest must be burned.

So God revealed to him:

“One ant bit you, and you destroyed an entire community that glorified God?”

[‘Sunan Nasai’, 4358 – Authentic].

The Qur’an says:

وَمَا مِن دَابَّةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا طَائِرٍ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ إِلَّا أُمَمٌ أَمْثَالُكُم

“All the creatures that crawl on the earth and those that fly with their wings are communities like yourselves.” [Qur’an 6:38].

تُسَبِّحُ لَهُ السَّمَاوَاتُ السَّبْعُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ وَإِن مِّن شَيْءٍ إِلَّا يُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَفْقَهُونَ تَسْبِيحَهُمْ

“The seven skies and the earth and all that is in them glorify Him. And there is nothing that does not glorify Him with His praise, but you do not understand their glorifying.” [Qur’an 17:44].
