Solitude

Solitude is better than being around bad people – أبي ذر

Abu Dharr said:

الوَحدةُ خَيرٌ مِن جليس السُّوءِ،
والجليسُ الصَّالحُ خَيرٌ مِن الوَحدةِ،
وإملاءُ الخيرِ خَيرٌ مِن السُّكوتِ،
والسُّكوتُ خَيرٌ مِن إملاءِ الشَّرِّ.

“Loneliness is better than Bad Company;
Good Company is better than Loneliness;
Good Speech is better than Silence;
Silence is better than Bad Speech.”

[Ibn Hajar said in “Fath” (11/284) that the chain is good and this statement is of Abu Dharr, not the Prophet: وسنده حسن لكن المحفوظ أنه موقوف عن أبي ذر].
