Evil Plots
Arabs say:
“Whoever digs for his brother a hole (qaleeb),
God will make this person himself fall in it soon (qareeb).”
This is not a Hadith, but the meaning is correct.
Imam al-Thalabi mentions it in his Tafsir and says:
“Ibn Abbaas said: “I found that the meaning of this can be traced back to the Qur’an”, he then recited: “evil plotting only backfires on those who plot.” [35:43].
[“Al-Kashf wa-l-bayān ʿan tafsīr al-Qurʾān”, 11/274].
Always have good intentions in life, because evil plots often backfire.
A poet says:
“Sow the seeds of flowers,
so your surroundings become a garden.
Don’t sow thorns,
because they will eventually hurt your own feet.”
