How the Salaf used to remind themselves of Hellfire – الأحنف بن قيس

وكان يضع أصبعه على المصباح ، ثم يقول : حس ويقول : ما حملك يا أحنف على أن صنعت كذا يوم كذا

Al-Ahnaf ibn Qayss used to put his finger close to the lamp and say:

“O Ahnaf, feel the heat! Why did you do what you did on such and such day?!”
