Migration

Migration –

A companion by the name of Fudayk became Muslim but his tribe did not.

He remained living with his people and some people criticised him for this.

He came to the Prophet and said:

“O Messenger of God, they argue that whomever does not make Hijrah will be destroyed.”

The Prophet said to him:

“O Fudayk, establish prayer, avoid sins, and live in the land with your people wherever you wish.”

[“Sahih Ibn Hibban”, Number 4969 – Authentic].

* Hijrah becomes compulsory when someone faces religious prosecution and cannot freely practice religion.
