Dominance In Egyptian Women

May Allah protect men against: ‘𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗯𝗿𝗮, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿,𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗴𝘆𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻.’

Egyptian women are notorious for their strong personality… they are not the submissive type – they dominate their men. Don’t mess with Egyptian women…

Their reputation even influenced Fiqh books:

The Maliki jurist, Imam as-Safti, who lived 300 years ago in Egypt, wrote:

أي من كل مرتكب كبيرة …………… ومن يعطي زوجته دراهم لتدخل بها الحمام متجردة مع نساء متجردات، أو كانت هي متجردة فقط أو هن متجردات فقط. أو أقرها على دخوله ولو لم يعطها دراهم. ومحل كون ذلك من الكبائر ما لم تعكر عليه زوجته في أمر معيشته كنساء مصر فإنه إذا دفع لها دراهم للحمام لا يحرم عليه ذلك؛ لأنه إذا منعها من الذهاب إلى الحمام تنكد عليه في أمر معيشته وربما كان ذلك سببا في طلاقها

‘It is forbidden for a man to give his wife money to go to a public bathhouse where she will be naked and other women will be naked too… even if he merely permits her to go, without personally paying for it, it is forbidden.This is a major sin – unless he has a wife who will makes a big deal of this, if he were to prevent her – like Egyptian women – in such situations, it will not be forbidden for him to pay for her public bathhouse visits.The reason is: if he were to prevent her from going to the public bathhouse, she will make his life miserable and this has the potential to cause divorces.’
