A man wearing a turban was riding a donkey.
A woman had a letter which she couldn’t read, so she asked this man to read it for her.
The man said: “I cannot read.”
She said: “You wear a turban and you cannot read?!”
The man took off his turban, placed it on the head of the donkey and said: “Go ahead donkey, read her letter to her!”

التقت امرأة برجل متعمم يركب حمارا، وكان معها رسالة تود قراءتها فاستوقفته وناولته الرسالة وطلبت إليه أن يقرأها لها.
فاعتذر قائلا: إنني أجهل القراءة.
فتعجبت وقالت: متعمم وتجهل القراءة؟
وما كان من الشيخ عندئذ إلا أن وضع العمامة على رأس الحمار وقال: تفضل يا حمار اقرأ الرسالة.
