Lamp Of Knowledge

Ibn Rajab Hanbali said:

العلم مصباح يستضاء به في ظلمة الجهل والهوى, فمن سار في طريق على غير مصباح لم يأمن أن يقع في بئر بوار فيعطب
“Knowledge is a lamp which enlightens the darkness of ignorance and desires. Whoever walks a path in the dark without a lamp, is not safe from falling into the well of destruction and harming himself.”

NOTE: The 4 Imaams agree that studying religion is more virtuous than praying the night (قيام الليل).
