Expectations

It is said:

اعملْ لِدُنْياكَ كأنَّكَ تَعيشُ أبَدًا
واعملْ لآخِرَتِكَ كأنَّكَ تَموتُ غَدًا

“Work for your world as if you are going to live forever;
Work for your hereafter as if you are dead tomorrow.”

When it comes to our worldly affairs, we should have long term plans and expectations.

When it comes to our hereafter, we should not expect to live another day.
