Parallel Universes – ابن عباس

It says in the Qur’an:
اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ وَمِنَ الْأَرْضِ مِثْلَهُنَّ
“God is the One Who created seven heavens and the same number of Earths.” [65:12].

Ibn Abbaas said:

سَبْعَ أَرَضِينَ فِي كُلِّ أَرْضٍ نَبِيٌّ كَنَبِيِّكُمْ ، وَآدَمُ كآدمَ ، وَنُوحٌ كَنُوحٍ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ كَإِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعِيسَى كَعِيسَى
“There are 7 EARTHS and on each earth there is:
A Prophet like your Prophet,
An Adam like Adam,
A Noah like Noah,
An Abraham like Abraham,
And a Jesus like Jesus.”
[“Al-Hakim” (3822), who said its chain is authentic هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد].

This is fascinating.

If Ibn Abbaas has taken this from the Prophet, then it means that there are 7 planets like earth and on each planet there is another copy of each one of us.

Maybe humans are tested on DIFFERENT planets, dimensions, centuries, continents, and with different families and in different scenarios?

A group of scholars weakened it because it sounds so strange, but other scholars accepted it.

Imam Allusi Hanafi wrote 200 years ago:
لا مانع عقلاً ولا شرعاً من صحته
“The Shariah and Intellect do not hinder the authenticity of this.”
[‘Ruh al-Ma’ani’, 28/143].

Al-Bayhaqi also narrated it and said :
قال البيهقي : إسناد هذا عن ابن عباس صحيح ، وهو شاذ بمرة
“Its chain up to Ibn Abbaas is AUTHENTIC, but it is odd.”

Many scholars were perplexed by this scary concept.
