Suicide

When a member of our community commits suicide – like the unfortunate incident of that Ayesha girl – we debate whether that person will go to Hell or Paradise.

Leave that for God to decide.

The question WE should be addressing is:

How did WE let this person down?

As a community, what can WE do differently, to prevent such tragedies in future?

Societies improve with healthy self-criticism.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ
“God does not change the condition of a people unless they change what is in themselves.” [Qur’an 13:11].

NOTE: Suicide is a major sin in Islam. Anyone suffering with suicidal thoughts should immediately seek help in the community. God’s earth is vast – there is always an escape. There is ALWAYS a way out.
