Polygamy Explained

Al-Zamakhshari – الزمخشري -, the linguist, was asked:

“Why can men have more than one wife,
but women cannot have more than one husband?”

“A subject (doer) can have multiple objects (done-to),
but an object (done-to) cannot have multiple subjects (doers).”

Another one tried to solve this enigma by saying: ‘Men are like teapots and women are like glasses. One teapot can fill four glasses, but one glass cannot fill four teapots.’

In the end they created more questions than answers!

🫖 😂🤦🏻‍♂️ ☕️
