Till Death Do Us Part

“Till death do us part” … this is not an Islamic concept.

If marriages get toxic and don’t work out – separate.

The Qur’an states:
فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ فَارِقُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ
“Either keep them honourably or part with them in honour.” [65:2].

Don’t fake happiness.

Divorce is NOT a taboo, nor is it always disliked.

That Hadith about divorce being disliked in the Sight of God (أبغض الحلال إلى الله الطلاق) – is disputed in authenticity.

Imam Ibn Qudamah mentions that divorce can sometimes be an obligation (واجب), sometimes disliked (مكروه), sometimes permissible (مباح), sometimes recommended (مندوب إليه), and sometimes forbidden (حرام).

It is not always disliked in the Sight of God – sometimes a divorce can be pleasing to God.

Escape from harm is not disliked by God.

Certain people are just not compatible with each other, it’s not always that they are bad people.

Don’t be stuck in miserable marriages.
