What We Give Remains
Aisha – رضي اللَّه عنها – said that they slaughtered a sheep.
Most of it was given away to feed poor people.
The Prophet asked: “What remains of it?”
Aisha said:
مَا بَقِيَ مِنْهَا إِلاَّ كَتِفُهَا
“Nothing remains of it except its shoulder.”
The Prophet said:
بَقِيَ كُلُّهَا غَيْرَ كَتِفِهَا
“All of it remains except its shoulder.”
[Tirmidhi, 2470 – it is authentic].
Meaning: what we give away in the path of Allah REMAINS in our record of good deeds on the Day of Judgement.
What we ourselves consume is gone.
