Don’t Wait For Others

Milk Cans & the king – حكمة

In an ancient kingdom, the army was short on funding.
So the king ordered milk cans to be placed in every neighbourhood in his kingdom and he ordered every household to pour a cup of milk into these cans every night, so the soldiers can drink the milk in the morning.
In the morning, the king realised that all cans were filled with water!
What had happened was that everyone was thinking like the other man: “I don’t have to put in milk, someone else will do it. It is dark, I could put water into it, and it would mix with the milk that others are putting in. Nobody will notice.”
They all thought like this.

Moral of the story: don’t wait for others, change starts with you.
If there is a charity you want to help, do it – don’t think: someone else will do it.
If everyone were to think like that, nobody will do it.
