Two Calamities

An evil governor once said: “O people, praise God because from the day I have been appointed over you, God has averted the plagues from you.”

A Bedouin said: “God is too merciful, He won’t combine two calamities upon us, you and the plague.”

خطب أمير في قومه فقال :
لم يصبكم الطاعون منذ أن وليت عليكم!
فقال له أعرابي :
إن الله أرحم من أن يجمع علينا مصيبتين , أنت والطاعون !
