Focus On Yourself First
Some people worry about GLOBAL AFFAIRS, while their own house is in disarray.
The Qur’an says:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ
“BELIEVERS, TAKE CARE OF YOUR OWN SELVES.” [5:105].
They want to lead the world, but they can’t even persuade their own family members to eat together at the dinner table.
They have opinions about GLOBAL ECONOMIES – but their own finances are in a mess.
If you can’t even fix your own house – how can you fix the world?
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا وَقُودُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ
“BELIEVERS, GUARD YOURSELVES AND YOUR FAMILIES FROM A FIRE WHOSE FUEL IS HUMANITY AND ROCKS.” [Qur’an 66:6].
Educate yourself and your family.
Strengthen your faith and finances.
Spend quality time with your family.
If we all did this, the world will change.
God did not place the burden of the entire planet on your shoulders.
Don’t fail your family, at the expense of trying to save the world.
I’m NOT saying be oblivious to the world around you or stop commanding good and forbidden evil – I’m saying: greater attention should be paid to yourself and your family first, because they are your immediate responsibility.
God will ask you about your affairs and the affairs of your family – before He asks you about the affairs of America and China.
