Fame

It was said to al-Mutanabi: “such and such person is mocking you!”
Al-Mutanabi said: “this loser wants me to respond to him, so his name goes down in history!”

قيل للمتنبي : فلان يهجوك..
أجاب المتنبي: هذا صعلوك يريد أن أرد عليه فيدخل التاريخ!!

And this is what is happening today in the world of social media, where laymen have the same platform & voice, as the scholars.

A random dude, who is a nobody – لا أصل له ولا فصل – attacks scholars and preachers … hoping to ride their tide, and to trigger a response, and gain fame in the process.

It is a disease, and the honour of people has sanctity.
