Light Of God

It says in the Qur’an:

يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ

“They want to extinguish the Light of God (Islam) with their mouths.” [Qur’an 61:8].

Ibn Kathir comments on this:

ومثلهم في ذلك كمثل من يريد أن يطفئ شعاع الشمس بفيه ، وكما أن هذا مستحيل كذلك ذاك مستحيل

“Their example is like someone who tries to extinguish sunlight by blowing at the sun. Its an impossible task to achieve, the same is true for trying to extinguishing Gods Light.”
