Hadith Scholars From Khurasan

Did you know:

Almost all of the top Hadith compilers and classical religious scholars were from the Khurasan region?

Present-day: Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.

Imam Tabari, the leader of Mufasirin.
Imam Bukhari, the leader of Muhadithin.
Imam Abu Hanifah, the leader of Fuqaha.

And many more!

Even others, who were born in other regions were originally from Persian origin, like Yahya Ibn Ma’een, and many others.

This actually fulfilled a prophecy of the Prophet, when he put his hand on Salman al-Farsi (the Persian) and said:

‏ لَوْ كَانَ الإِيمَانُ عِنْدَ الثُّرَيَّا لَنَالَهُ رِجَالٌ ـ أَوْ رَجُلٌ ـ مِنْ هَؤُلاَءِ
“If Faith were at the stars, even then (some men or man from these people (i.e. Salman’s folk – Persians) would attain it.”

If one nation drops the flag, God will raise another nation to carry it:

وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوْا يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُونُوا أَمْثَالَكُم
“And if you turn away, you will be replaced by other people, and they will not be like you.” [Qur’an 47:38].
