Writing Blessings Upon The Prophet

Writing Blessings Upon The Prophet –

Khatib al-Baghdadi wrote 1,000 years ago:

“I saw in the handwriting of Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal many ahadith in which the Prophet was mentioned, and he would not write [[‘sall Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam’]] after his name.
I was informed that he used to invoke peace and blessings upon the Prophet by his tongue and not in writing.
Other early scholars opposed him on this.”

[“Al-Jami’ li-Akhlaq ar-Rawi”, 1/271].

So it is GOOD if someone does this in writing.

However, it is also FINE if someone does not write it – but simply says it.

It does not mean that they are being disrespectful.
