Beware When Criticising

Imam Yahya Ibn Ma’ieen once said:

‎إِنَّا لَنَطْعَنُ عَلَى أَقْوَامٍ لَعَلَّهُمْ قَدْ حَطُّوا رِحَالَهُمْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ
‘𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲.’

He then wept and the book fell off his hands…..

This was about criticising the men in the chains of Ahadith [الجرح والتعديل]… in defence of religion!

Imagine what they would have said if they saw us talk bad about others for worldly reasons.
