Dua Without Actions

𝗗𝘂’𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 ….

The scholars say:
ترك الأخذ بالأسباب معصية، والتوكل على الأسباب شرك
‘Relying solely on the ‘means’ is Shirk,
and abandoning the ‘means’ is a Sin.’

It means: if a man sees that the roof is collapsing on his head, and he just sits there, asking & relying on God to save him – he is sinful and this is suicide.

If he believes that these ‘means’ alone can save him without God, he’s not a believer.

One should combine actions with supplications & reliance on God.

A man came to a pious man and said: ‘Make Du’a that I become a father.’ The pious man made Du’a for him. As the man was leaving, the pious man said to him: ‘Don’t rely solely on my Du’a. Don’t forget to do your part.’
