Amin Al-Shanqiti

It is reported that Shaykh Mohammad Amin al-Shanqiti – who was very close to the Najdis and is considered a teacher of major Salafi scholars – once said in a discussion to his opponent:

يا مصري! من أخبرك أن الرسول الذي أرسل إليَّ، ووجب عليَّ الإيمان بما جاء به اسمه محمد بن عبدالوهاب؟
إن الرسول الذي أرسل إليَّ ووجب عليَّ الإيمان بما جاء به اسمه محمد بن عبدالله صلى الله عليه وسلم
ولد بمكة ولم يولد بحريملاء
ودفن بالمدينة ولم يدفن بالدرعية
وجاء بكتاب اسمه القرآن
“O Egyptian, who told you that the Prophet who was sent to me, the one in whom I have to believe whatever he came with – that his name was Mohammad Ibn Abdul-Wahaab?!

The Prophet who was sent to me and the one in whom I have to believe with whatever he came with:

His name is Mohammad Ibn Abdullah!
He was born in Makkah, not in Huraymila!
He is buried in Madinah, not in Diriyah!
The Book he came with is called: the Qur’an!”
