Poverty Among Scholars

Expectations when marrying a Student of Knowledge – الفقر

Poverty is a constant companion of most students of knowledge.

A reality encapsulated by this statement:

سئل الفقر اين تعيش ؟
قال في عمائم الفقهاء
Poverty was once asked: where do you live?
He said: in the turbans of jurists!

Few are those who are financially comfortable amongst the students of knowledge.

I’d like to add:

Women want financial security, this is understandable – but don’t have unrealistic financial expectations when you want to marry a student of knowledge or scholar.
