Judging Others
Don’t say: ‘Don’t judge me’,
or: ‘Only God can judge me’,
but say instead: ‘Don’t judge too soon’,
or: ‘Don’t judge without knowledge.’
People judge all the time – it’s natural….
You’re judging this post, right now…
It’s inevitable.
We judge by our 5-senses all the time:
When we smell a flower, we judge.
When we hear sounds, we judge.
When we touch, we judge.
When we eat food, we judge the taste of the food.
When we see the outside world, we judge.
The reason we check the mirror every morning, wear nice clothes, comb our hair, put on perfume, go to the gym etc, is all because we know that we get judged by others.
Even Animals judge … it’s part of nature.
Asking someone not to judge is like asking them not to breathe.
However, it is important not to be hasty in making judgements. We should know the full picture and gather all the facts, before we can make a fair judgement. We don’t know what other people are going through in their lives. We should abstain from making uninformed judgements.
The judgement should be fair and with good intentions.
The aim of the advice should be to eradicate the disease, not the diseaseD.
