The Ring

Once a King asked one of his ministers to engrave on his ring a statement, which would make him happy when he is sad and which would make him sad when he is happy.

He wrote: “هذا الوقت سيمضي” i.e. ‘this time will pass’…

When you are happy it makes you realise that this happiness is temporary, so it makes you sad.

When you are sad it makes you realise that this sadness is also temporary, so it makes you happy.
