Lowering The Gaze

Lowering the Gaze –

Two guys saw a girl outside.
The first guy whistled at the girl.
The second guy said: “Heyyy, she is my sister!!”
The first guy apologised and said: “You never told me that you had a sister?”
The second guy said: “She is my sister in faith.”

This is how we should treat all women.

Women get harassed on a daily basis. Some men whistle at them, stare at them, make dirty remarks towards them, etc.

Some pervs even try to deliberately rub themselves against women in the busy markets!

This is all evil.

If they are not our sisters, they are someone else’s sisters and daughters.

Wish for others, what you wish for yourself.

Women are not a piece of meat, they are human beings deserving full honour and dignity.

Men should protect women.

It has been narrated with an authentic chain:

A young man came to the Prophet and said: “O Messenger of God, give me permission to fornicate.”

The people turned to him to rebuke him, saying, “Shh, shh.”

The Prophet said: “Come here.”
So he came close to him and he told him to sit down.

The Prophet asked, “Would you like that for your mother?”
He said, “No, by God.”
He said, “Nor do people like it for their mothers.”
He said, “Would you like it for your daughter?”
He said, “No, by God.”
He said, “Nor do people like it for their daughters.”
He said, “Would you like it for your sister?”
He said, “No, by God.”
He said, “Nor do people like it for their sisters.”
He said, “Would you like it for your paternal aunt?”
He said, “No, by God.”
He said, “Nor do people like it for their paternal aunts.”
He said, “Would you like it for your maternal aunt?”
He said, “No, by God.”
He said, “Nor do people like it for their maternal aunts.”

Then he placed his hand on him and said, “O God, forgive his sin, purify his heart, and guard his chastity.”

And after that, this young man never did anything.
