Unreliable Friends

They say about finding people’s true nature:
بعض البشر كمسائل الرياضيات ..
الحل طويل و القيمة صفر !..
‘Some people are like complicated maths questions: it takes long to understand and figure them out, but the answer you end up with may be zero (i.e. they’re nothing).’

Our first impression of people is often right, but some people are sophisticated and it takes a while to discover their true nature.

About such people, it is said in Afghanistan:

‎له ځینو خلکو سره ملګرتیا کول د ګریوان د تڼیو غلطو تړلو په څیر دی چی کله اخیری تکمی ته ورسیدی هغه مهال پوهیږی چی سهوه شوی یم

“Befriending some people is like buttoning your shirt, you only realise your mistake when you reach the last button.”
