Envy

Envy consumes human happiness…

As the poet says:

اصبر على كيد الحسود ***** فإن صبرك قاتله

فالنار تأكل بعضها ***** إن لم تجد ماتأكله

‘𝗕𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻,

𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲.

One of the ugliest diseases of the human heart is ‘envy’… some scholars said that envy is [كدود للجسد] ‘like a worm inside the body’… it is difficult to get rid of, but it needs to be eradicated.

The scholars say it was the first sin in heaven [jealousy of Satan] and the first sin here on earth [jealousy between the sons of Adam].

The forbidden type of envy is not wishing that you have what someone else has – that is good, we all want that. The forbidden envy is wishing that the other person did not have that thing but you had it.
