Love & Hatred

Don’t let your love and hatred blind you….

A poet says:

وَعَينُ الرِضا عَن كُلِّ عَيبٍ كَليلَةٌ
وَلَكِنَّ عَينَ السُخطِ تُبدي المَساوِيا
“The pleased eye cannot see any faults;
Whilst the displeased eye sees nothing but faults.”

……..

We see this with sectarian cult members,
who cannot see the faults of their cult leaders.

We see this with political groups,
who cannot see the faults of their political parties.

When someone hates you,
they will interpret even your innocent statements maliciously.

When someone loves you,
they will not even notice your flaws…
