Cupping Is Not Religious

Ibn Taymiyah explained that cupping (حجامة) was meant for people in those hot countries, it will harm people in cold countries:

وقوله “شفاء أمتي”: إشارة إلى من كان حينئذ من أمته وهم كانوا بالحجاز. كما قال: ما بين المشرق والمغرب قبلة لأن هذا كان قبلة أمته حينئذ لأنهم كانوا بالمدينة
“The Prophet’s statement: “It [hijama] is a cure for my nation”, – was an allusion to those members of his nation who were there at that time in the Hejaz region.
It is like the fact that He said: “Between the East and the West lies the Qiblah.” [“Tirmidhi”, 344].
This was the Qiblah of his nation at that time, because they were in Madinah.”

[“Majmu al-Fatawa”, 17/486].

Some people mistakenly think: EVERYTHING the Prophet said or did was meant for EVERYONE until the Day of Judgement.
It is not like that.
