Alcohol Ban In USA

The US banned alcohol from 1920 to 1933.

These pictures show the Police enforcing the alcohol ban in the 1920’s. However, people did not comply, so the alcohol ban was lifted in 1933.

Aishah said that the first revelation in the Qur’an was about Faith, Paradise & Hell etc. and that:
وَلَوْ نَزَلَ أَوَّلَ شَىْءٍ لاَ تَشْرَبُوا الْخَمْرَ‏.‏ لَقَالُوا لاَ نَدَعُ الْخَمْرَ أَبَدًا‏
“If the first thing to be revealed was: “Do not drink alcoholic drinks,” – people would have said: “We will never leave alcoholic drinks!”

So when the command finally came, believers poured their alcoholic beverages on the streets of Madinah. It worked. That prohibition still stands…
