The Stretcher

In Greek mythology, ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€ (โ€œthe stretcherโ€) was a blacksmith who claimed to have developed a one-size-fits-all bed. He made sure everyone fits into this bed.

How?

If they were too long, he used to chop their feet, to make them fit into the bed.

If they were too short, he used to stretch them, to make them fit into the bed.

Instead of making the bed fit them, he made them fit into the bed!

Moral of the story: Don’t harm yourself, trying to fit inโ€ฆ
