Knowledge Is Like Water

Approach knowledge with humility…

The scholars say:

‎المتواضع في طُلاب العلم أكثرهم علمًا، ‎كما أن المكان المنخفض أكثرُ البقاع ماء

‘𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗯 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲, 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗯 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿.’

Knowledge is like water … if you approach it with arrogance and look down upon it, thinking you know it all, your cup will be already full … whatever more water you pour into it, it will overspill. It won’t stick.

But if you approach it with humbleness, your heart will absorb a lot more of it, like a low area of land or an empty cup holds water.

Water flows downwards, it doesn’t flow upwards…similarly, if you want knowledge, don’t position yourself above it, but lower yourself to it and it will come to you.
