The difference between ‘eyesight’ & ‘insight’ – الفرق بين البصر والبصيرة

The scholars say:

Elders have weak eyesight (البصر),
but strong insight (البصيرة).
Youth have weak insight (البصيرة),
but strong eyesight (البصر).

What elders see from the ground, the youth cannot even see from the top of a mountain!!

God has granted ‘eyesight’ to most: humans, cows, sheep, birds, fishes, insects, etc.

The biggest blessing is to have: ‘insight’.

The real blindness is not the blindness of the eye, but the blindness of the heart.

فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعْمَى ٱلْأَبْصَرُ وَلَكِن تَعْمَى ٱلْقُلُوبُ ٱلَّتِى فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ
“It is not the eyes that are blind but the hearts that are in the chests that are blind.” [Qur’an 22:46].
