Ibn Taymiyah said:

ومن ظن أنه يعرف الأحكام من الكتاب والسنة بدون معرفتها بما قال هؤلاء الأئمة وأمثالهم فهو غالط مخطىء

This is very important, because everybody claims to follow the Qur’an & Sunnah…
The Qur’an & Sunnah according to whose understanding?
You often hear: ‘But I’m quoting a Sahih Hadith!!’
The issue is rarely with the evidences.
The issue is often with how the evidence is understood, interpreted and used.
Often the Daleel is correct, but the Istidlaal is incorrect…
