Charity To People Of Other Religions

Charity (صدقة) to people of other religions:

The Prophet Muhammad said:

“GIVE CHARITY TO PEOPLE OF OTHER RELIGIONS.”

[Reported by ‘Ibn Abi Shaybah’, (3/177) – see also ‘Silsilah as-Sahihah’, 2766].

Ibn Abi Hatim narrates in his Tafsir with an authentic chain (10/338) that Ibn Abbas said:

“The Prophet ordered us to give charity to the people of Islam, until the following verse was revealed:
“It is not for you [Prophet] to guide them; it is God who guides whoever He will. Whatever charity you give benefits your own soul.” [Qur’an 2:272].
After this was revealed, he ordered us to pay charity to whoever asked for it – to people from all religions.”
