Appreciate Your Teachers

There is a maxim that says:

الفَضْلُ لِلْمُبْتَدِي
وَإِنْ أَحْسَنَ الْمُقْتَدِي
‘Merit belongs to the initiator (mubtadi),
even if its done better by the successor (muqtadi).’

Always appreciate your parents and teachers who planted the initial seeds of your success.

When you reach the top of the mountain, do not forget the small stones you stepped on, to reach the top. When you reach the top of the tree, do not forget the little branches you held onto, to climb up. We reached these heights because they laid the foundations for us.

The Prophet said:
مَنْ لاَ يَشْكُرِ النَّاسَ لاَ يَشْكُرِ اللَّهَ ‏
“Whoever is ungrateful to the people,
is also ungrateful to God.”
[“Tirmidhi”, 1954 – صَحِيحٌ].
