Elderly Parents

Elderly Parents –

When I was a kid, I used to walk past an old-people’s home and I used to hear elderly people scream and cry.

Don’t abandon your parents when they are old.
They suffer from loneliness, regret, depression, dementia, physical body ache, eye-sight loss, etc.
They want your company.
They also did not abandon you when you were young.
Be with them, even if it’s just a phone-call.
It may not mean a lot to you, but it means the world to them.

Consider serving them an honour, not a burden.

People who have lost their parents, would give away the entire world – just to see their parents one more time!
If you still have this opportunity, don’t miss it.

One day, you will enter their room and only find an empty chair. On that day, you will forever regret not spending more time with them. Guaranteed.

There is huge reward in serving them:

The Prophet: “May he be ruined!!” (3x)
He was asked: “Who do you mean, O messenger of God?”
He replied: “He who sees either of his parents during their old age or he sees both of them, but he does not enter Paradise (i.e. does not take care of them).”
