1- Ibn al-Jawzi narrates:
ุณู…ุน ุจุนุถ ุงู„ู…ุบูู„ูŠู† ุฃู† ุตูˆู… ูŠูˆู… ุนุงุดูˆุฑุงุก ูŠุนุฏู„ ุตูˆู… ุณู†ุฉุŒ ูุตุงู… ุฅู„ู‰ ุงู„ุธู‡ุฑ ูˆุฃูƒู„ุŒ ูˆู‚ุงู„: ูŠูƒููŠู†ูŠ ุณุชุฉ ุฃุดู‡ุฑ
A fool heard that fasting on the day of Ashura equals the fast of a year, so he fasted until noon and started eating again. He said: ‘Six months is sufficient for me.’

2- It is reported:
ู‚ูŠู„ ู„ุจุนุถ ุงู„ุญู…ู‚ู‰ ูƒูŠู ุตู…ุชู… ููŠ ุฑู…ุถุงู†ุŸ
– ูุฃุฌุงุจูˆุง: ุงุฌุชู…ุนู†ุง ุซู„ุงุซูŠู† ุฑุฌู„ุงู‹ ูุตู…ู†ุงู‡ ูŠูˆู…ุงู‹ ูˆุงุญุฏ
Some idiots were asked: ‘How did you fast during Ramadan?’
They said: ’30 of us gathered and we fasted 1 day each, to complete the full month in a day.’

3- It is reported:

A fool tried to trick the Shaytan, so he said: ‘O people, eat salty food and don’t say ‘Bismillah’, then the Shaytan will eat with you. Then say ‘Bismillah’ and drink water, the Shaytan will not be able to drink with you. Thatโ€™s how we kill the Shaytan with thirst!’

4- It is reported:

A man was tempted by food and broke his fast.
He came to a jurist to find out about the ruling, so he was told what to do.
He kept coming back the next few days, repeatedly grabbing and eating food.
The jurist said: ‘I rule that you should fast with both your hands tied to your neck.’

Imam Ash’ab was about to tell a long story, so he started: ‘There was a man who was sixty years old …’
He noticed that the plates of food arrived …
He was asked: ‘What happened then …?’
Imam Ash’ab said: ‘He became sick and died.’
